Bear with me tonight - I was on a tear today at work and this Irish descendant and former Naval Officer is still a little wound up...
Baskin Autos
Today as I was driving home I realized that both, Holly and I are driving different vehicles than we were when we lived in Texas... We had some sad moments saying our "goodbyes" to them, but we are down to 1 Baskin Auto... It is one of those splendid, amazingly economical Hondas. We'll be driving it until the CNG Vehicles take off in the marketplace...
Have any of you seen the CNG Hondas? I saw one at the Honda dealership the last time Holly's car was in for service. I'm sure that you've seen the Clean Energy adds promoted by Chesapeake's CEO or T. Boone Pickens. I think placed a large order for Honda CNG vehicles.
Good Stuff. Good for our industry. Good for America.
The only thing that could be better is if GM or Ford could have committed to building CNG vehicles instead of Honda.
9/11/2001
As we approach the anniversary of 9/11, I think it's a good time to reflect on our continued reliance on those 3rd World countries from whom we import so much Oil. As a result of our millions of barrels of imported oil we send millions of American dollars to those who wish us harm. It doesn't make sense to me.
Every time there is a replay of the attacks on the WTC Towers, I get a spark of anger - still... okay, so it's more of an inferno. I think the average American has already forgotten... I'm not referring to racism - unless racism is associated with Islamic Terrorists. Does the thought of those planes crashing into the Pentagon, the WTC Towers, the Pennsylvania field still get to you? I can't imagine the agony experienced by those trapped in the buildings, the airplanes, the stairways on that day. I can't imagine the feelings the families of those trapped felt.
I can imagine that anger they experienced though.
McCain For President
As a new Presidential race is in progress, we need to think about which candidate will make America stronger and which candidate will make America weaker. That choice is simple. We have to select a Leader who is a fighter, not an orator. I've always been an advocate of doing and not talking. Anyone can talk, some do it with a silver tongue, others do it with their heart. America needs a Leader not a talker - I've found, since leaving the military, that leadership is extremely rare in non-military America. We have an opportunity to select a Leader this November. I'm looking forward to excercising the American freedom of voting.
The next time there is a terrorist attack in America, it won't be airplanes slamming into iconic pillars of American power - that has already been done.
Sorry, I was on a roll tonight.

Job Update Part Two
Well, just when we thought we had everything sorted out... Our job situations have changed a little. Holly will be taking another job with the big, bad competitor of my new company... So we are going from being on the same team at work to competitors!
I am really proud of Holly for having the opportunity that has come about. The decisions weren't easy, but they are complete and final.
Well, Holly says I'm silly for my explanation about the boat commissioning, but having been a "man-of-the-sea" I know this importance. For all of time the water and sea have been forces not to reckon with.
