We have begun our Christmas Holiday up in Angel Fire, NM. We arrived to find the ground covered with snow, the ski slopes open, and the air fresh and cold. We did not spend any time skiing, but did spend some time snowmobiling through the upper elevations. Holly entrusted me with her safety and asked me to drive her on the snowmobile. I managed to keep from losing her, but we did bump helmets as we went airborne over a hill once - she contests and claims it happened several times, but I only recall once :).
There was a big scare about a winter storm and the forecast lead us to believe we could see 12-18" of snow, but we only saw 1" of snow. We think it was all a conspiracy by the local media to attempt to keep the Texans out of New Mexico!
We spent a little time enjoying the local wildlife. We saw a big herd of Elk, several deer, and some beautiful birds that have elected to stay up here through the winter.
Merry Christmas!
