ELVIS SIGHTING
We travelled to Denver in early June for a cousin's wedding. While we were there we experienced an Elvis sighting. We stayed at the historic, Oxford Hotel, just down the street from the Rockies' Baseball Stadium. The wedding was great - it was in a beautiful Cathedral downtown Denver. The reception was at the top of the Hyatt where we could see the sun set over the Rocky Mountains. It was great to see aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Last weekend we drove down to the lake, by way of Dallas. We were able to see a new arrival in the Lawrence family - little Lexis, or Lexi for short. Lexi is a little Bearded Collie puppy and is full of spirit. We look forward to seeing her grow up. From Dallas, we headed to the lake with some dear friends for some fun on the water and just some relaxation. The weather at the lake was the best weather we had seen during any of our visits.
Since we had been adjusting to all of the newness of the city, new jobs, new apartment, new colleagues, new bosses, new couch... new bed... all of it new and different from where Dallas, Crosstex, our TOWNHOME, our comfortable BED, our awesome COUCH.... we decided to spend the night downtown in some luxury last night. Holly and I stayed at the Skirvin Hilton, which is also a historic hotel... so we've been hitting up some US Historic Places this summer! For dinner, we explored Bricktown, checked out restaurants we'd like to visit in the future and finally settled down for dinner at Toby Keith's "I Love this Bar" restaurant. Dinner was great, and the room was plush and relaxing.
FREEDOM
Well this week is a short one - at work. We are running off again next weekend for some fun on the water. We look forward to spending our 2nd Married 4th of July not getting too much sun!
Enjoy your week. Have a great 4th of July!
